The Rotary Club of Dunmow recently held their fourth annual Young Musician Competition, this year at Helena Romanes School, Dunmow. There were twelve musical performances during the event, both singers and instrumentalists.
There were five singers who sang a range of songs, including 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow', 'Any Dream Will Do', 'Dreams' and 'Dream Valley'. The instrumentalists played the piano, trombone, electric guitar and violin, with a wide range of music from Chopin to AC/DC.
All the performances showcased the wonderful musical talent of the young musicians. The overall winner was Harry who performed as a singer and played the trombone in the instrumental section.
The competition was judged by two professional musicians, who provided valuable feedback to all the entrants during the competition, many thanks to Simon and James.
The young musicians who took part were Eliza, Josie, Bea, William, Harry, Jonas, Jacob, Ollie, Josh and Ankhan, two of them performing twice.
The Rotary Club of Dunmow would like to thank Helena Romanes School, for allowing us to host the competition at the school, and Empire Pianos who provided us with a wonderful Grand Piano for the competition.
