ROTARY WEST WICKHAM IS 90 THIS YEAR

Things have differed since it came into being on the 2nd May 1934!

Although the core values of Rotary still exist there have been many changes and developments since 1934 that still makes Rotary West Wickham relevant to today's world.

Also, gone are the days when Rotary was thought of as a group of local businessmen in suits and ties meeting for formal dinners. Nowadays:

  • We welcome both men and women from all walks of life as members.
  • We recognise and welcome diversity.
  • There are no minimum attendance requirements (plus an informal dress code) at meetings.
  • We are flexible - "rules" can and are changed to suit our purpose.
  • We exist for the community, whether that is local, national or international.

All we ask for is:

  • A commitment to help others when the need arises.
  • A proactive "can do" attitude.
  • A belief in community spirit and that where we can help,we will help.

A good sense of humour is a definite asset as well!!
