At our meeting of 2nd September we were delighted to present a cheque to a local Charity. "Smile of Hope" of Eltham is dedicated to supporting children and families with life-limiting conditions. It believes that every child deserves the chance to experience happiness and hope, and is committed to making a positive difference in their lives. .

At our Business Meeting on Monday 19th August the Club made the following donation decisions:
a. To send £3,555.00 to the Ukraine District Fund. This donation will allow the following items to be purchased and taken out to Ukraine this coming month:
1) Consumables for mobile Dental unit. £600
2) 30x Cat Gen 7 Tourniquet for medics £570
3) 3 x Invertor generators for emergency services. £810
4) 10 x ex-NHS stretchers £500.
5) Soap and hygiene items for the Internally Displaced Persons Centre on the Dnipro river (these will be brought local and receipts supplied) £1500 (£900 has been pledged already).£600
6) 100 x Israeli bandages for medics in NE Ukraine. £475
b. A donation of £250.00 is to be sent to the Evelina Hospital for children at the request of the ITN speakers at our last meeting.
c. This year Christ Church is supporting the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Club will join them by donating £750.00 to this Association.

Bromley Brighter Beginnings
Around 20% of children in the Borough are living in poverty; over 16,000 children. Christmas can be a time of sadness, disappointment and exclusion in place of excitement and happiness. Bromley Brighter Beginnings supports families by providing a huge array of Christmas essential & goodies. Their “Christmas for Every Child” hampers are filled with books, toys, gifts, games, Christmas treats, toiletries, cosy nightwear and food vouchers. In the last financial year, they provided school uniform for over 255 children, 238 children with their own bed, 68 households with white good or kitchen appliances which benefited 119 children. They also supply families with basics bundles of baby items.
