Our Guest speaker Mike Barbakoff visited the club recently to give a talk on "The Women of Bletchley Park"
Mike's talk gave a view of the work that the women of Bletchley Park during World War 2. This involved code breaking and intelligence against the German armies. Women represented 70% of the Bletchley Park workforce of nearly 9000. They were taken from all sections of our forces plus civilians to help the war effort. He also included the recruitment and off duty activities the women whils tat Bletchley Park. Many names were mentioned of the famous women associated with Bletchley Park.

Today we had a very interesting talk by Phillippa Parker about George Bernard Shaw, his wife, and friends they had in Hertfordshire. President Gary presented Phillippa with a cheque for £250 for her charity Beds and Herts Historical Churches Trust.
