Charity Golf Day at Cirencester Golf Club In aid of Dementia UK & other Rotary Charities

CIRENCESTER ROTARY CHARITY GOLF DAY

The inaugural charity golf day, organised by Cirencester Rotarian Andy Kerr and held at the prestigious Cirencester Golf Club this month was a huge success and raised £4,300 for Dementia UK and other local Rotary charities. Dementia UK’s specialist Admiral Nurses provide live-changing support to families living with dementia.

With 30 teams of four, participating in the best two Stableford score competition and many fun challenges along the way a great time was had by all.  Despite the forecast being against it, following a week of heavy rain, the weather held off and the course played well.

The winning team on the day was ‘The Rangeford Four’ – James McNee, Oliver Blay, Gwen Webster and Doug Jones; 2^nd prize went to ‘The Old Bogeys’ – Brian King, Rob McCall, Graham Short and Bryan Stockwell;  and 3^rd to ‘Team Simone’  - Dave Ferris, Mike Barnikel, Adam Gibson and Oli Grace who travelled up from Reading. The Longest Drive Competition was won by Hannah Hyde (Bassett’s Allsorts) for the Ladies and Mark ‘Bosh’ Barnikel for the Mens. Nearest the Pin was won by Paul Stone in team Les Jouers.

Plans are already underway for a repeat event next year.
