SEP 2015 PEACE ONE DAY - VI Form Talks and Workshops

3 days of Activities exploring Peace & Conflict Resolution Monday to Wednesday - led by Victoria Gabioud and Rtn Mike Smith. (Long Road, Parkside, IVC, Netherhall, Hills Road, Comberton, The Leys Sixth Forms)

Sixth Formers from across the Cambridge area have been involved in three days of stimulating debates, talks and workshops led by Rotary Peace Scholar from Bradford University.

Maria Victoria Gabioud will speak about her work at the UN about Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, the Balkans Peace Park project and her experience as a Peace Fellow and current work in UN, as well as why she chose to study International Relations and how her career has developed during the last decade – and how it was always related to Peace issues.

MONDAY

Morning - Long Road Sixth Form College

Afternoon - Parkside Sixth Form College

Evening (Open to the public - starts 4.10pm ) -

          Peace Debate - Monday 21st Sep 2015 Leys School, Fen Causeway, Cambridge.
          1. This house believes that Religion is a force for World Peace.

          2. This house believes that violent computer games are detrimental to preserving a Peaceful society
 
          3. This house believes that welcoming and integrating immigrants from across the world is essential     for the UK’s successful social, economic and peaceful future.

TUESDAY

Afternoon - Hills Road Sixth Form College

Evening - Cambridge Rotary Club Charter Night Dinner
