Special General Meeting

Thu, Dec 10th 2015 at 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

An important business meeting ...

We confirmed the key Club Officers for the next Rotary Year and accepted the audited Club and Charity accounts.

But, at the beginning of the meeting we had the pleasure of hearing from the Head of Framwellgate School, Alisdair Nicholas.  One of our members, Derek Hall, is a Governor at the school and he became aware that the Santa Claus arranged for the School Fair was unable to be there, so, without hesitation, Derek called on Alf Harold – one of our regular Santas – and Santa Alf was happy to stand in.  In thanks for this, Alisdair, on behalf of the school, presented us with a cheque for £200 to go into our Christmas Appeal fund.

Our sincere thanks go to Alisdair, the school, and, of course, Santa Alf!
