The City of Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, CCSO, will play:

Delibes : Prelude and Mazurka
This is part of the music from the ballet Coppelia, first performed in 1870. Its smooth passage was rudely disrupted by the Siege of Paris and the Franco-Prussian War.

Many will find this music both familiar and charming.

Glazunov : Violin Concerto
The composer, Glazunov, was a Russian, although he died in Paris.
The concerto contains one of the most spectacular cadenzas ever created.

The soloist, Joo Yeon Sir, is a world class virtuoso and has played several times before in Cambridge, with the CCSO.

Her polish and elegance was a treat!

Berlioz : Symphonie fantastique
This is the key part of the concert written in the revolutionery times of 19th Century.

It is startlingly spectacular and hugely entertaining.

The Club were stewarding the concert, selling tickets, selling advertising space in the programme and providing transport..

If you need some help/transport to be able to attend the concert please email Rtn John Helmsing below - volunteer help is available.
