Rotary Club Lunch Meeting

Fri, Jul 22nd 2016 at 12:45 pm- Fri, Jul 8th 2016 - 2:00 pm

We meet as usual for lunch at the New Kent Hotel. Our after lunch speaker will be Peter Samuel, who is deputy chairman of the People's Kitchen

Founded in 1985 as a soup kitchen, The Peoples Kitchen has  evolved to offer a range of services all with food and friendship at their heart during the evenings and weekends when professional support is not available. Around 140 hot meals are served every single night that The People’s Kitchen is open. Add this to the meals wserved on the streets from their outreach team and you get over 40,000 hot meals every year. They provide homeless people with sleeping bags, blankets and warm clothes and offer them the facility of hot showers at the Alison Centre. The Peoples Kitchen works closely with local businesses, charities and trusts, and is loyally supported by churches, schools, community organisations and individuals. The Rotary Club of Newcastle upon Tyne has been a supporter of The Peoples Kitchen for many years.
