St Patrick's Day Race Event

We have been given the opportunity to collect at the "Pot of Gold" Party at Newcastle Racecourse on St Georges Day for our President's chosen charity, MacMillan Cancer Care

Our club has been given the opportunity to collect at the St. Patrick's Raceday Event at Newcastle Race Course for Macmillan Cancer Care on Saturday 18 March 2017 between 12 noon and 5pm

The Racecourse are celebrating St Patrick's Day by giving everyone the luck of the Irish at their Pot of Gold Party. The event is to be “packed with money can't buy experiences, ticket give-aways, VIP hospitality, superb gifts, Irish jigs and of course Guinness”.

The Racecourse has announced that they are working with Macmillan and for everyone who wears green on the day they will make a contribution to Macmillan with prizes to the best dressed green person. Our Club President Jo and secretary Linda have said they will definitely be in their green wigs and, who knows, one of our members could win a prize!

We require 8 – 10 people to collect at the entrance and exit, marquee and table top stall. It is expected that there will be five to six thousand people attending and it will be a fun packed day. This is an excellent way for our club not only to collect for Macmillan but to publicise itself and show people what we do.  Jo has arranged for our Club to have permission to display our leaflets together with our pull-up saying who we are, where we are, and what we do.

Jo says, “I can't do any of this without your help and support so please volunteer to take part and  support this worthy cause and let's show everyone what a fine club we are”.

A board went round at Friday's meeting (24/2/2017)  and will be circulated again at this Friday's meeting. All members who can are asked to support this effort. If you are not attending the meeting you can also let Jo or Linda know if you will help.
