POSTPONED Presentation & Fundraiser for Naalarami School

Fri, Mar 3rd 2023 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Meet at the Cottenham Community Cafe (opp the Co-op). £10 adults, £6 children, includes food. Can pay by Bank Transfer. Parking on the road.

The school in Tanzania has been supported by the Cambridge South Rotary Club for over 10 years.

It is in the bush 2 or more hours from Arusha in the shadow of Kilimanjaro.

The Maasai children come together from miles around to enjoy their education at the Naalarami School.

Success at the school enables them to move on to Seconday education.

We have supported them by helping with building classrooms, kitchens, teachers accomodation, composting toilets and water collection gutters and tanks. The hot, dry and dusty environment is a challenge to its maintenance and much more needs to be done.

The most recent challenge has been deterring the local elephants from raiding the water tanks and currently an environmentally freindly barrier of beehives is in construction. Hopefully these will also enable honey production and an income for the school.

Come and hear the latest update on this valuable and worthwhile project and lend a hand !
