Emily Percival-Patterson.
This is an extract from the
successful Global Grant Scholarship application to provide financial
support for Emily Percival-Paterson. Her area of focus is Maternal and
Child Health. Emily has been accepted at the Liverpool School of Tropical
Medicine, to pursue a Master of Science in International Public Health
(Sexuality and Reproductive Health). Based on her education and
experience, her long term goal is to work in public health or medicine, to
advocate for, and work towards the development of inter-sectional and
interdisciplinary programming in the area of sexual and reproductive health for
marginalised communities. Specifically, Emily will use her training to
advocate for members of the LGBTQ+ community and Indigenous peoples, two
demographics in Canada which have historically been undeserved by the
healthcare system.
