Gerald Smith - A Year in the Life of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry.

Raffle - Sandy Mackenzie.
Reception - Liz Mackenzie / Alan McCloskey.

On Thursday 8th June, Rotarian Gerald Smith followed up his recent photographic record of the construction of the new Queensferry Crossing with an equally fascinating and imaginative presentation of a year in the life of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry. Members and guests enjoyed an entertaining series of shots showing club activities from the inauguration of the new president in July, through to the change of president the following June. High profile fundraisers like Santa's Sleigh and the Rotary Forth Bridge Abseil demonstrated how effective the club can be in organising large scale public events. Pictures of the Senior Citizens' Concert and activities such as the Primary School Quiz, Young Musician and Young Vocalist Competition, Young Chef Competition and Rotary Young Leaders Awards showed how Rotary works in the community, helping and bringing opportunities to all age groups. The club's commitment to supporting international humanitarian aid and development was also demonstrated. Gerald didn't neglect the very important social side of Rotary covering the range of activities enjoyed by Rotarians and their partners in the course of a year. The presentation sparked many amusing memories and anecdotes and was a timely reminder of what Rotary offers not only the community  but also its members.
