Rotary gives £5000 towards Sea Cadets' Minibus

On Monday 12th August, President Jim McCulloch and Immediate Past President Sandy Mackenzie visited Queensferry Sea Cadets headquarters to present a cheque for £5,000 from the club's social fund. The money, which matches a grant from Nationwide, will go towards the acquisition of two reconditioned minibuses to replace their present ones. The vehicles are being made available at a reduced price by the Ministry of Defence and are due to be delivered within the next few weeks. This is the 50th anniversary of the Sea Cadets being established in Queensferry. In accepting the cheque, commanding officer Colin Butcher said: 'The Sea Cadet unit is extremely grateful to Queensferry Rotary Club which has given us much valued support over the years. Our minibuses are reaching the end of their lives and the new ones will enable us to continue our training activities.'
