Annual Christmas Carol Concert at Dalmeny Kirk

The beauty of historic Dalmeny Church was the perfect setting for a programme of carols and music organised by the Rotary Club of South Queensferry on Wednesday 18th December. Queensferry and District Community Brass Band under the direction of John Gilmour, played a selection of favourite carols including Hark the Herald Angels Sing and the First Nowell as well as less well known but equally impressive musical items such as A Maori Love Song. The audience enjoyed a beautiful rendering of O Holy Night by John Gilmour on the piano. Past President Sandy Mackenzie and Carol Kelly gave appropriate Bible readings and Rev. David Cameron delivered a thought-provoking Christmas message and gave the final blessing. In his closing remarks, President Jim McCulloch, who compered the evening, thanked Dalmeny Kirk, everyone who had taken part and the Rotarians who had organised the concert. The collection will be divided equally between Dalmeny Kirk and Queensferry and District Community Brass Band. After the concert refreshments were served in the church hall.
