Sixty five people, comprised of Rotarians from Rhyl Club and other clubs in the district and guests celebrated our 99th Charter with a dinner at the White House Hotel in Rhuallt. During and after the meal we were entertained by an accomplished 14 year old harpist. After the meal the guest speaker, Paul Maelor gave a witty and entertaining talk about his life as a musician and composer. Among his many claims to fame he composed the music for the wedding of Prince William and Catherine. The response was proposed by District Governor Rotarian Beth Murray. She then presented Tracey Phillips with a well earned Paul Harris Fellowship for her outstanding work as social secretary. She also presented a PHF Sapphire award to Professor Chris Smith for his work as cl ub treasurer during a difficult changeover of banks. Several long service awards were also given to our longer serving members. A raffle on the night raised over £480 which will be split between President John Dicks's nominated charites, Rhyl Samaritans and Marie Curie Nurses. An excellent night to cap off an excellent year for Pres09dent John.
