Vocational

The Rotary Club of Rhyl Vocational Committee

The Vocational  Committee arranges club visits to places of interest which have in recent years included the Morgan Factory at Malvern, the Village Bakery, the Denbigh Radio Museum, and British Aerospace at Broughton.

Under the chairmanship of Rtn Mike Howarth and the previous chairman Rtn Gareth Wynne Jones, Vocational manage for the Club our social events and outings and manages our involvement in the inter club district 1180 quiz. Recent results are very mixed, having been knocked out in the first round last year after progressing to the semi-final the previous year!

Recent events incude: A guided tour of Bodelwyddan Castle followed by a meal at Abergele Golf Club; A leisurely stroll along the Llangollen canal followed by a meal at the White Waters Hotel; 2 visits to Bangor on Dee races with a meal afterwards; a visit to Gwaenonog Hall and gardens followed by a meal at Con Amici Italian restaurant; Bodnant Gardens to see the Laburnum Arch; a visit to the Microbrewery at Ruabon and several others.

Planned events for the near future: A second visit to the Ruabon microbrewery and pub in October; a Gourmet evening at Llandrillo College restaurant in February or March 2017 and a visit to one of North Wales vineyards.
