Community groups, charities and organisations within the PR25 and PR26 postcode areas were urged to get in touch to apply for cash grants of up to £350 for their projects. These awards are only possible due to Leyland Rotary’s annual fundraising efforts.
So far, awards have been made to Leyland Barracudas Amateur Swimming Club, Heartbeat, Drumming for Dementia, Leyland SEN Disco, and Leyland Dementia Music and Memories.
President Jim and Rotaduck went along to Heartbeat's head office at Deepdale to see the work they do and to meet their mascot.
Whilst the current round of Pitch4Pounds applications has closed, it is anticipated that this initiative will re-open later in the year. So keep coming back to check!
This initiative can only continue if our fundraising events like our virtual duck race are successful.
