The Rotary Club of Derby has once again launched its campaign to fill shoeboxes with small gifts for children in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, where they would otherwise receive nothing at Christmas. Our thanks to everyone that volunteered their time for the Teams4U Love in a Box Christmas Shoebox Campaign. This year there were over 3000 shoueboxes from the Derbyshire area. These and more boxes from Grimsby and Nottingham filled an artic lorry which this year went to impoverished children in Moldova.
Particular thanks to Baggy Shanker MP for Derby South who provided the lead to identifying this year's warehouse provided by Alsthom at their Litchfield Lane site.
As well as several members of The Rotary Club of Derby and members of the Teams4U warehouse team, we were assisted by volunteers from Puregym. It was very successful and the lorry was loaded in less than an hour.
