Santa Race online

Sun, Dec 20th 2020 at 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Online Santa and Snowman races for children and adults. Tickets 50p with bonus tickets the more you buy. Total prize value now £130. Average prize value is over £9.
Last entry midnight Sat 19th.

We are looking for the online races to be a fun event but to also funds for charities, mainly children’s ones.  (ED Young Carers, CHAS, Kidney Kids Scotland and Beatson Cancer Charity).  These races will be similar to the duck races we ran in October.  There will be two sets of races with applicable prizes.  Children's races will have Santas, adult races will feature Snowmen.  Similar to the Duck Race, we will tag each Santa with the entrants name.   Children's prizes include cuddlies and chocolate.  Adult prizes include alcohol and chocolate.  See pictures for some of the prizes.

To encourage participation, we are reducing entry to only 50p and also giving bonus entries:- spent £2 and get 5 entries, spent £5 and get 15 entries.

A maximum of 50 Santas will run in each race with the top 5 winning through to the semi-finals.  As with the Duck Race, there will also be a lucky loser draw.  All of the races will be run on Sunday 19thDecember.  Entry to the races will close at midnight on Saturday 18th December.  We will post any updates and prize information here and on Allander’s Facebook and Twitter pages ahead of the races.  Details will also be available on The Waypoint Facebook page, the usual home of Santa’s Grotto, as well.

The races and lucky loser draw will be posted on Allander’s YouTube channel at the stated times and will be available there afterwards.  (The duck races can also be seen there)

We appreciate that the payment method is not ideal but using any other method has a significant effect on the amount that we collect due to handling fees so we appreciate that while not ideal, using BACS means we receive all of the money for the charities.

Payments can be made to a member of Allander Rotary or, online, by BACS to the following account.  Please put Santa then your name into the reference so we can collate it with your email.

Bank of Scotland Account

Rotary Club of Allander – New Horizon Project
Sort Code   80 22 60     Account     14707162

After payment you will need to email your details to santa@allander-rotary.org   In your email you need to tell us what name(s) you would like to attach to your Santa/Snowman. eg John Smith, Smithy1, John S2 or whatever.  If we get duplications we may need to amend your requested name(s).

Ahead of the qualifiers we will take all of the valid entries and will randomly generate a series of races.

The qualifiers will be run on Sunday 20th at 3pm.  The first 5 from each race will go forward to the final races at 5pm.   If you aren't in the top 5 we will run a lucky loser selection to fill any extra places available in the finals.

Details will be available on our website, Facebook and Twitter pages.
