Duck Race and Fling 2025 Report

So what a day we had this year, the river was high so an early decision on the day to make the course safer for the river team and contain the ducks was made and put round on social.

All the stall holders turned up and set up and the crowds started following the parade.

The Flingers had a great time up to about 3.30 when the heavens opened, trunkating a couple of performances but the tug of war was held as the rain subsided.

And all the stalls were able to pack up in the almost dry!

A big Well Done to the Fling Organisers for another great Fling, if you have some spare time next year they will have something for you to help with.

On the Rotary front thanks to volunteers from the Boys Brigade and from QV School and individual volunteers who helped recover the ducks on the day.

And of course the Rotarians

Our thanks at Rotary go to our kind sponsors for providing prizes:

MKM Builders Merchants  Thanks for sponsoring the principal prize

Mo-lawn   without their help on the day and storeage for the ducks and kit we would never put the race together - well done George and your team.

James Speciality Coffee Bar  A big thankyou to Claire for making up the batter for the crepes.
