Environment Committee

Protecting the Environment

As Rotarians, we are in the privileged position of being aware of environmental issues arising locally and in the surrounding areas that affect nature, wildlife and ultimately our planet. We are committed to supporting activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources and advance ecological sustainability.

With this in mind, we continue to develop ideas and projects that will protect our local environment for future generations. We support projects run by local Wildlife Trusts at Rushden Lakes and Stanwick Lakes; maintain Community Gardens in Rushden and Higham Ferrers; and support projects within local schools that further the work of educationalists on protecting the environment, wildlife and food sources.

How do we do this?

We are people from all walks of life who use their ideas, energy, practical skills and networks to raise funding, influence change, policy making and planning.

If you are someone who is keen to make a positive change, come and join us.

The Committee: Geoff Banks (Chair), Andy Aitken, Mark Bird, Matt Gerrett, Susan Perkins, Christine Turner and Keith Turner.
