"The Entertainer" at the Everyman
Shane Richie returns to the Everyman Theatre following the sold-out production of The Perfect Murder to tackle the role he was born to play.
1982: Archie Rice is a washed-up entertainer playing a summer season to half empty houses, as his soldier son sails with the Task Force to liberate the Falklands. And as his daughter Jean returns from campaigning against the war, Archie's professional and personal lives collide with devastating consequences.
A star-studded cast includes Shane Richie, who takes on the role memorably created on stage and screen by Laurence Olivier, along with Sara Crowe and Diana Vickers.
Chosen as one of the greatest plays of the 20th Century by Michael Billington (chief theatre critic of The Guardian) John Osborne's classic embarks on its first ever UK tour.
