Mon, Aug 3rd 2015 at 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm

Speaker: Malcolm Gribble

Club members please log in for more information.

Malcolm Gribble moved to Guatemala five years ago to put his engineering skills to use in a development setting. He recently founded Soluciones Apropiadas who manufacture a range of clean cookstoves that save Guatemalan families firewood and eradicate harmful smoke from the house. Over 5,000 people die each year in Guatemala as a result of indoor air pollution caused by open fire cooking and the country is suffering from an annual wood deficit. With the range of "Chispa" cookstoves that Malcolm produces, Guatemalan families can reduce their firewood consumption by over 50% and reduce indoor air pollution by 98%
