Sixteen rotary clubs in Aberdeenshire are involved in organising the Kids Out fun which this year will be held on Wednesday 11th June.
The Kids Out fun day has been running since 1994 and has the aim of putting a smile on the faces of these children with special needs. The event takes school children from around the Aberdeen area from as far afield as Ellon, Oldmeldrum, Banchory and Stonehaven schools. The schools attending are limited by the fact that they must be able to depart their school at normal school start time by organised bus to arrive at the venue in Craibstone and be able to depart and return to their school within the close of school hours.
Kids Out was started by John Moore of Littlewoods (Liverpool) in 1989 when he organised an annual day out in local businessmens motor cars for the disabled children in the area. In 1990 it was linked with the local Rotary club to provide more cars. In 1999 the Kids Out National Charity was formed. The national charity donates around
