Thursday 9th April saw the Rotary Club of South Queensferry welcome back the four-man team which had spent ten days helping to paint and refurbish family houses in a Kenya orphanage. Craig MacKenzie, Graham Leith, Jim McCulloch and Brian Robertson spoke of their remarkable experience and the warm welcome they received from the staff and children. Craig MacKenzie said: 'We completed more than was expected of us and were happy with the result. There was no harm to life or limb, including those around us, and we had a ball.' Graham Leith added: 'We furthered the name of Rotary, the club and Scotland and made many friends who remembered previous volunteers from South Queensferry. Helping at a project like this gives a real sense of how individual Rotarians can make a difference to people's lives.'

For the last ten years the Club has supported Kenya Children's Home, a charity for orphaned and abandoned children run by Stagecoach entrepreneur Ann Gloag. The Club's most recent fundraiser was a wonderful evening of music by Moira Kerr at Hopetoun House which raised
