Quiz Evening

On Thursday 28th May, the Rotary Club of South Queensferry held its annual quiz at the Hawes Inn. Quizmaster Gerald Smith chose 2014 as the theme and questions ranged over news, politics and films. He even asked competitors to write 2014 in Roman numerals. Winners were the table comprising Alex Laughlan, Ron Ainsworth, Ed Kelly and Alan Armes with a total of 24 points out of 32.

FORTH BRIDGE ABSEIL SET FOR RECORD TURNOUT.

The Rotary Forth Bridge Abseil this Sunday (7th June) is set to have a record number of  participants all keen to mark the 125th anniversary of the Forth Rail Bridge by abseiling 165ft from the world-famous landmark for charity. President Charles Fletcher said: 'This year's adopted charities are Macmillan Cancer Support and CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland). We have also made spaces available for a number of other local and national charities and are delighted at the number of intrepid volunteers all willing to do their bit for a good cause.'

Actor Scott Fletcher will be abseiling and hopes to bring along other River City cast members. Councillor Norman Work has also registered to take part in what looks sure to be an exciting event. Commentary throughout the day will be provided by Radio Lollipop.
