Jamie Faulkner joins the Rotary Club of Senlac

“I was invited to a meeting to discuss helping at the car show, I left the meeting thinking Rotary is for people like me”, so said the newest member of the Rotary Club of Senlac at his induction to the Club and Rotary. Jamie Faulkner of Acacia Homecare was formally inducted at the Club’s Annual General Meeting on 17 May 2017. Jamie, who grew up in Surrey, worked for nearly 25 years in Marketing and Sales Management in companies such as IBM, Gillette, Parker Pens and HoMedics.  Jamie has always had a vision of working in the community and this led him, with his wife Emma, to start Acacia Homecare, an organisation looking after people in their own homes. His vision of working in the community is part of his work philosophy and he tries to get his staff involved too; he contacted Senlac Rotary offering help and was invited to discuss his thoughts at a meeting.  At his induction Jamie said, “When I came to that first meeting I knew nothing of Rotary but as I found out about the Rotary organisation and the work it does in the community I realised that being a member of Rotary would help me achieve more of my vision of working in the community and provide me with a great amount of satisfaction and enjoyment. There must be many more like me out there who don’t know about Rotary but would enjoy the opportunities and benefits Rotary can provide”.

Jamie and Emma moved to this area in 2006 and now live in Battle with their three children. Jamie stays active with running and cycling, as does Emma, and used to do Triathlons.

If you would like to know more about Rotary please contact the Senlac Rotary Secretary, Mike Styles, on 01424 843955  or see the web-site www.senlacrotary.org.The club normally meets each Wednesday evening at the Cooden Beach Hotel.
