A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by Rhyl Rotary club members, wives and friends at the Vineyard.
We were met by the proprietors, Charlotte and Colin, the latter taking us on a journey through the vines and explaining how the vines were drastically pruned to encourage root growth and that they were not allowed to fruit for four years after which they would produce an abundance of grapes.
We were then taken back into the main building and given samples of the four different wines produced from the grapes, followed by a complementary glass of whichever wine we liked best. This was accompanied by a wonderful selection of locally produced cheeses.
The wines have won many prestigious awards including a "Silver" from the Worshipful Company of Vintners.
A big thank you to Colin and Charlotte for a most entertaining and informative evening.
