Beverley Rotarian Peter Delaney sadly lost his wife to Motor Neurone Disease in 2022, aged 69. As a tribute to her and to raise funds for MND ressearch, Peter embarked on a cycle ride from Land's End to John O'Groats in April and May 2024.

With the help of his brother Jim and members of our club, planning began in 2023. As a former rugby players the brothers planned to involve Rugby Clubs and Rotary Clubs along the way to help with fund raisinf, ride support and publicity.

Peter's challenge was given the title 'Route 53' in honour of his wife who was born 3-5-53. The slogan 'Marching on MND' was added and pennants were produced with this branding to wear and hand out to supportetrs aloong the way. Tee shirts were also produced by the team.

Peter completed his epic ride on 30th May. Click the links to see the story of his ride in pictures.
