Dunblane Fling and Duck Race Saturday 25 May 11.00- 17.00

Well that’s the Duck Race over for 2019 and the weather held out until the winners came in.  Despite the rain coming in later the river was quite low with water which made the race quite slow and the job of encouraging the stragglers over the rocks quite difficult.

Thanks to:

Rotarian Ivor Butchart for all the planning and preparation for this Rotary Community Service event which raises funds for CHAS and other local charities

The Rotarians and Shawn Cooper who all worked in the river and to those helpers who plucked the ducks from the banks, especially DHS pupil Madi who rescued lots of stranded ducks.

Generators (thanks to Jaryd J M Electrical 0782655080 for connecting and setting into life)

Tables and Chairs (thanks to the Braeport and Stirling Furniture for the loan of the transport van and driver)

Duck Rescue and Batter provision – Alison Brown

The QV Interactors for helping on the day and dressing up as ‘the duck for the race’

The Round Table guys for manning the Bouncy Castle

A big thanks to George – Mo Lawn - without the vans for moving the equipment and the storage though the year and George’s energy through the set up to store away, the event could not take pace

All the Rotarians erecting and dismantling fencing, banners, marquees, cooking equipment, water supply – cooking, tidying and taking orders for crepes, loading and off-loading vans.

All the prize sponsors.

Winning Duck holders will be contacted by telephone and will be invited to the prize giving to be held at the Cathedral Hall on Friday 31 May @ 18.00

Big Thanks also to ourSponsors and Prize Sponsors
