On Thursday 9th July, the first virtual meeting of Irene Brownless's presidential year was well attended by members and guests of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry. After welcoming everyone, Irene handed over to Gerald Smith who screened the second part of his compilation of images of Rotary year 2019-20. The pictures covered the club's meetings and social activities including the formal dinner at the Dakota, the Young Musicians Final, the club Burns Supper in Dalmeny Church Hall, funding and installation a defibrillator in Dalmeny, quizzes and job talks all of which took place when the club was functioning normally. This was followed by a selection from our subsequent virtual meetings which included the Photographic Competition, several presentations from charities such as Freedom from Fistula and the British Heart Foundation. The transatlantic link-ups with Mark Wilson talking about international development and COANIQUEM - a charity providing treatment and funds for children with burn injuries in South America - and Past President of RI Barry Rassin's presentation of Rotary's role in the current covid-19 pandemic were also featured.

Gerald's presentation concluded with Immediate Past President Jim Mculloch's impressive video to members thanking them for their support during the year, and pictures of last week's handover. IPP Jim thanked Gerald for taking the photographs and compiling the review of the year.

In other business, President Irene announced that Vikki Renwick would take over the Health and Safety and Safeguarding role from Lorna Prentice. She thanked Lorna for her year in that capacity.
