Salvation Army 'Garden of Hope'
Chertsey Rotary donation
On Tuesday June 24th 2020 President Chris Ball, Treasurer David Thompson and Secretary Ian Hunter were present at the handing over of the Club donation whilst social distancing was maintained.
The cheque was received by one of the two volunteers who had been working on the setting up of the project. In the background is Major Ian Loxely the Corps Officer of the Salvation Army
The aim of the 'Garden of Hope' is to provide raised beds, some with wheelchair access,for individuals to grow crops for their own use
It will create an inclusive and sustainable communal space to give opportunity for people to come together.
The Garden will be open on Saturday mornings and Monday afternoons

Polio must be wiped out to make sure no child falls prey to this paralysing and sometimes fatal illness. In 2020 Africa was declared to be polio free only Afghanistan & Pakistan remain endemic with the polio virus
