Invitational Fundraising Golf Competition for Strathcarron Hospice.

Invitational Fundraising Golf Competition for Strathcarron Hospice- 24 September 2020

Those who are members of Dunblane New Golf Club may already know that the Captain and Committee have offered Rotary an opportunity to hold a golf event to raise much needed funds for Strathcarron Hospice. For supporters who do not know I am delighted to advise this will take place at Dunblane New Golf Club on 24 September. Entry is now open.

This competition will be open to teams of four using the Stableford scoring format and will be played from yellow tees (ladies equivalent applies). Teams will be starting in 10-minute intervals beginning at 7.30am with the final tee off time at 3pm.  Full handicap, plus 2 for ladies applies. The Golf Club Captain’s Day scoring Method will be used in the competition. Details will be provided to team captains on the day. Only team prizes will be awarded. To reduce the risk of any cross infection and in accordance with Covid-19 restrictions the event will require the team Captain to keep their group scores on one card. For the same reasons there will no “Yellow Ball” challenge and no competitor’s raffle. There will be catering available during the day. Competitors are encouraged to book directly with the Buttercup café, the Golf Club Caterers who are operating under strict Covid-19 guidelines. The generous sponsorship of the event from Farmfoods will allow a subsidy in the cost of food.

When responding to this invitation, it would be helpful if you could provide Three alternative start times in order of preference. These should ideally be in different hourly periods and we will do our best to respond to your request. Team captains will be notified of their start times by email/text by week commencing 7 September.  The event will follow the safety guidelines in place at Dunblane New Golf Club applicable on the 24 September 2020 and further details will be circulated as appropriate to the team captains nearer the time. In order that we can provide updates can all team captains provide their contact details in their entry forms. This should include both e mail address and telephone numbers (preferably a mobile number to allow communication by text).

This is an invitational event, and teams are asked to make donations to Strathcarron Hospice. In line with the team fees in previous years, the suggested minimum donation will be £140 for the four team members. There is of course no upper limit should your team wish to donate further. To maximise income we request that team captains complete the enclosed /attached gift aid declaration in favour of Strathcarron Hospice (assuming you are a tax payer). Please use this document to enter the competition. It should be returned along with your personal or business cheque to Ken Murray, Carroncraig, 2 Sinclair Street, Dunblane, FK15 0AH. Entry cheques should be made payable to Strathcarron Hospice. Those wishing to enter who are unable to complete gift aid should leave the declaration box unchecked.

Dunblane New Golf Club and the Rotary Club look forward to seeing you and your team at the event on 24 September 2020. We hope that you and your team members will have as enjoyable day as has been enjoyed over the previous 34 years.

Yours sincerely

Ken Murray
