Manningtree Young Citizen of the year 2020

Nine year old Bobby Scarlett awarded the Manningtree Rotary Young Citizen Award for 2020

President Angela Henesy was delighted to present nine year old Bobby Scarlett with The Manningtree Rotary Young Citzen of the Year Award for 2020.

Bobby was presented with a trophy, certificate and a cheque for £100 to send to Little Troopers.

Local schoolboy Bobby and his mother climbed to the top of Mount Snowden to raise money for the charity Little Troopers which supports children with parents serving in the Armed Forces. The 17 mile climb to the top of Mount Snowden and back is a significant challenge and Booby and his mother Natassa trained for several weeks to be able to undertake it. They had planned several more mother and son runs which had to be cancelled due to covid. The pair are now planning a 177 mile walk along the Offa's Dyke Path next year if they are able to do so
