Rotary was able to obtain a global grant of $1.125M, since increased to $1.3M to equip a new ship Global Mercy starting to be built in China in 2020.

The original Africa Mercy has been working off the west coast of Africa some some years now.

The level of medical operations that are able to be offered is fantastic and all the staff are volunteers, including paying for their own accommodation and food.
