The Martello Half Marathon emerges from lockdown reinvigorated for 2021!!!

As you will all know  many events were cancelled or postponed last year, including the  Martello Half Marathon organised by Seaford’s Martello Rotary Club.  Although restrictions meant we couldn’t  hold proper events, we did keep the pot boiling with a number of virtual runs,  but of course these are nothing like the real thing.

However, with the planned lifting of lockdown restrictions on the 21st June, we are able to hold the next Martello Half Marathon in Seaford.

So on Sunday the 18th July, the second Martello Half Marathon will take place starting and finishing on the seafront near the Rugby Club at the Salts Recreation Ground and offering a beautiful but tough run following footpaths and tracks up onto the Downs.

After taking in the stunning views there is an exhilarating downhill run to Bishopstone then along the seafront to the cheers of the crowds!

2019 attracted over 150 runners and we are hoping for more this year.  This is a race recognised by England Athletics and it will offer micro-chip timing for all participants, provided by the professional race organisers Nice Work of Rye   To enter or for more information go to :-

All monies raised will be divided amongst the British Heart Foundation, WOLO (the local cancer support charity), the local Shelter for victims of domestic violence, and other local Rotary Charites.
