Annual Charter & Handover evening 2022

Fri, Jun 17th 2022 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Our 42nd Charter Evening, having first chartered in 1980, was again a big success.

For non-Rotarians, this is effectively a club's birthday party, and we were our celebrating 42 years of service and fellowship in Wensleydale.

We had a lovely dinner at The Falls Cafe in Aysgarth, followed by speeches and our continuing President Ray Wilkinson welcoming David Spashett as her Deputy.

Speakers from Caring For Life Charity, which is supported by the club, told us more about their work with the most underprivileged in society and thanked us for our continuing support.

We were joined by guests from Richmond and Upper Eden Rotary Clubs, and if you would like to join us in our work, or see and hear more of what we do, please come along to one of our meetings for a chat !

Wensleydale Rotary is committed to local charity fund raising, community service and involvement, especially promoting ethical and sustainable projects. Calling on the many decades of our members’ experience in Wensleydale, we bring a unique mix of local expertise and organising skill to our efforts. All are welcome to come along and see what our club does, and new ideas for our efforts are always welcome !

We were pleased with the increased entry for our second Saunter, particularly how much people enjoyed the route. So the 2024 Saunter will be over the same route.

This popular Walk/Run was back to normal in 2023, so we hope to see many new entrants in 2024, as well as our regulars, some of whom have been coming for 20 years or more! This year, we are again supporting Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
