Speaker Mayor of Sunderland Host George Lomas

Tue, Aug 16th 2022 at 12:45 pm - 2:15 pm

The Mayor, Councillor Alison Smith and her husband Consort visited, following our interesting visit to City Hall. She told us about her year so far.

They have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.  Her interest has been in Guiding and Community work before politics.

The city has links with 4th Regiment of Royal Artillery and 101 Rifles, which she has continued.

She described all the various events and visits that she has already performed so far this year.

Her chosen charities are three relatively small charities with a local flavour:

"Friends of Bunny Hill" covers Redhill and surrounds.

"Downhill Pond" and "Hope for All". are two initiatives in Downhill and Pennywell that are worthy of support.
