On 9th December Andrew picked up 500 plants, guards and stakes from a nursery. He hadn’t quite appreciated how much, in volume, this would be but it fortunately fitted (just) in his vehicle.
It transpired afterwards that it was the wrong order - 1000 of
each!
The planting of a 128 metre hedge seemed very daunting, especially when only Stuart,
Maureen and Andrew turned up to help….. "Had we bitten off more than
we could chew?"
Nevertheless, in true LDM form, we plodded on. The farmer and
his wife gave us a small amount of help in between their farming duties; he was
very sceptical we would finish the task.
But, guess what?
Finish we did, 465
plants later.....
