John started his talk by expressing his gratitude to the Club for establishing our partnership with the College for the administration of the travel scholarships to be funded by the Norman Richardson Memorial Bequest.  This is a trust fund set up to make the most of a generous bequest to the Club by Norman's widow - we will be describing more of this Fund in these pages in the near future.  John explained how it would benefit selected students in the furthering of their studies.

He went on to give us a vivid description of the work of the College which covers a wide spectrum - from vocational courses up to degree level studies.  Providing for both full-time and part-time study, it meets a very real need in further education for the region.  This wide coverage means that it can be classified as a "Mixed Economy College".

We look forward to working with the College in the near future.  In the meantime check out the College website.
