Prof. Bob Williams - Marilyn Monroe - Her Mysterious Death

Thu, May 29th 2014 at 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

An evening meeting ...

This was a joint meeting with the other Durham Rotary Clubs - Bede and Elvet.  Spouse and partners were welcome.and it was good to see so many people from the other Clubs. We look forward to further joint meetings.

The meeting was also special in that it was the first official engagement of the newly appointed Mayor of Durham - Councillor John Robinson who also happens to be a member of the Rotary Club of Sedgfield.  The mayor noted the presence of several ex-mayors - but then, as I've mentioned before, the Durham Clubs have a habit of collecting mayors, ex-mayors (and mayoresses) so it was not surprising.

We were entertained and informed by an excellent presentation from Professor Bob Williams, summarising the life and times of Marilyn Monroe and going on to explore the mysterious and controversial circumstances of her death.

A most unusual meeting!
