Eastnor, Enchanting & Exceptional

Our members took a visit to Herefordshire's jewel in the historical crown, Eastnor Castle

We’re very lucky to have a club that sits right in the heart of glorious Herefordshire. It means that we have plenty of wonderful places to visit and enjoy some social time together. Our most recent day out took us to the east of the county, near to Ledbury, to one of the most talked about and enchanting castles in the region.

Eastnor is a dramatic, fairy-tale castle situated on a 5000-acre estate in the Malvern Hills within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its magnificent arboretum and lake are breathtakingly beautiful, with spectacular views of the rolling Herefordshire countryside.

Built between 1810 and 1824 the 19th century revival castle at Eastnor is quite remarkable, step inside and you’re met with glorious rooms that are richly decorated with fine art, glorious tapestries and of course medieval armour. It is absolutely stunning and wouldn't be out of place in one of Grimm's fairy-tales.

Our members took a fabulous tour of the castle and were impressed at not only its beauty but also its historical significance.

After emerging from a wonderful tour it was only right and proper to snaffle an ice-cream and enjoy the view across the 300 acre deer park. Together we enjoyed a fabulous day of friendship and fun.

It's always a joy to visit this wonderful place, we're hoping to return again soon.
