Numerous Blackpool Palatine Rotary members attended the 29th Annual Special School's Music Festival held at Ribby Hall Village, thanks to the Harrison family & their staff.
The Special Schools Music Festival is organised by The Gerald Richardson Trust, being one of the trusts highlight of their year.
Special thanks must go to Angela Butcher, PHF, Blackpool Palatine Rotary member who has worked tirelessly to ensure the event was a success.
The trust was founded by members of Blackpool North Rotary in 1973 to provide a lasting memory & legacy to Gerry, a Police Superintendent, following his murder during a bungled robbery of Preston's Jewellers in The Strand off Talbot Road in Blackpool.
The audience was treated to, amongst others, Pear Tree School singing songs from Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Park Academy performed songs from both the musicals, Matilda & The Greatest Showman. Woodlands School sang Take That's 'Rule the World' & Highfurlong School delighted the audience with Roar, Katy Perry & a Ben E King number.
Park Community Academy performed an ensemble which included The Nolans- I'm in the Mood for Dancing. Finally Red Marsh School performed Bruce Springsteens Dancing in the Dark. Great Arley School also participated.
All performances were signed by Jules.
The whole festival was a delight to watch from start to finish.
Peter Kenworthy, President of Blackpool Palatine handed over a cheque to the trust.
These events are what Rotary & the Gerald Richardson Memorial Youth Trust are proud to be part of.
