President Robin Taylor introduced our Speaker Clive Emson who is an auctioneer.
Clive began his Rotary journey with Hythe Rotary Club and most of the charitable work he has done has been as aresult of Rotary.
His first venture was a Homework Club and he was then asked to be “an independent visitor”. These visitors work with children on a one to one basis for a period of three years. He started the Young Lives Foundation 12 years ago. The Foundation provides appropriate adults for all the custody suites in Kent. They have over 200 volunteers and have won the Charity of the Year and Queens Charity Award.
On Thursday 7 th November Clive will be going to Buckingham Palace to receive an MBE from the Queen. President Robin presented Clive with one of our Club banners and a donation for his Charity.
Vice President Amanda Cottrell gave the vote of thanks.
