Speaker Will Aitken 'What is the Point of The Ramblers?'

Tue, Jul 14th 2015 at 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

St. Andrews Kilrymont Rotary Club member Will Aitken gave an interesting and informative talk on rambling. Will, a member of St. Andrews and North East Fife Ramblers, outlined the history of rambling in the UK.
The Ramblers Association was founded in 1935 and today has over 100,000 members.
Will talked about the fellowship of rambling and also the role of Ramblers' Scotland in campaigning for access to land, rights of way and footpath maintenance. He also highlighted the importance of the right to roam given in the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003.
Fiona Wells proposed thanks.
