Santa visited the neighbourhoods in December 2018, raising over £17 000 for the needy of the town.
This December he will be returning.
Following the tremendous success of the Rotary Club of Hemel Hempstead’s Santa Sleigh in 2018 it visitedthe streets of Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley and Bovingdon again this year with fantastic success.
For those who saw it last year, who can forget the excitement and delight on the faces of children and indeed the adults who reminisced about the sleigh from their childhood?
Santa collected in excess of £17,000 in the run up to Christmas 2018. In addition to shares for the 23 charities who manned the sleigh for the house-to-house collections, donations were made to 20 other local charities.
Tony Burford, chair of the Santa Sleigh committee said “We are delighted to say that plans are well under way for this year’s activity. We have 25 proposed routes visiting Adeyfield, Apsley, Bennetts End, Boxmoor, Chaulden, Gadebridge, Grovehill, Highfield, Leverstock Green, Warners End, Woodhall Farm, Bovingdon, and Kings Langley.
Helped by various groups and organisations we will be out between 18.00 and 20.00 on our evening collections. We will also be again holding several static collections where you will be able to have your child’s (or even your own!) photograph taken with Santa.
Santa’s full schedule will be posted on the Hemel Hempstead Rotary Club Facebook page in mid November. Click here to see all the routes!Like and save to ensure you get updates. You will also be able to track Santa on his evening journeys. Instructions will again be posted on Facebook or click here for tracking after November 25th.
