Swimathon

Our Swimathon has become an annual event and has raised an enormous amount for local charities.

The Rotary Swimathon has become an annual event and is held at Teddington Pool

This event has been running since 2005 and has so far raised over £80,000 for charities. Wifth your involvement the Swimathon will become bigger and better than ever.

How can you be part of our Rotary Swimathon?  A team can be any size from one individual up to four members, and charities can enter as many teams as they wish. Team entries are free, but each swimmer must get sponsorship for their team. The aim is for teams to swim as many lengths as possible within 55 minutes. You do not need to be an expert swimmer;  anyone who can swim a length unaided can take part, including children (with parental permission). You only need to be prepared to give up an hour of your time and to get your friends to sponsor you and your team.

The Swimathon is run by The Rotary Club of Twickenham who organise the event, provide the venue and supervise arrangements on the day.

The purpose of the event is to raise money for local charities and for other charities supported by Rotary International.  70% of the sponsorship money raised by a team will go to that team’s nominated charity, while the other 30% will go to charities nominated by the Rotary Club of Twickenham. A list of charities supported each year is displayed on the club’s website.

Thank are due to everyone who has joined us for past Swimathons. The 2024 event is now open for entries, so please see our 2024 Swimathon page for more information and entry details.

So why not get together with friends and family and help your group and local community whilst having a lot of fun?
