  • Phil Relf is Director of Sport at Canterbury Academy. Phil is the former Kent County Cricket Club first team assistant coach. He holds the English Cricket Board (ECB) Level 4 coaching qualification and has previously worked for the England and Wales Cricket Board, including a spell spent in research at the New Zealand Cricket High Performance Centre. His role at the ECB involved managing a national education programme for Level 3 coaches before he became the academy director and second XI coach at Kent in 2007. The trained PE teacher is currently the Director of Sport at The Canterbury Academy where he applies his analytical skills to boost sports performance and use his coaching expertise to develop the talents of academy youngsters. As well as a successful career as a Kent Premier League batsman he also has football experience and played in the Kent League for Chatham, Whitstable and Folkestone Invicta, as well as representing England Universities. 

  • Ross Johnstone – year 11 student – aged 15. Ross plays football for First Touch Football Academy and has recently taken up squash.

  •  Will Raife – year 11 student – aged 16. Will plays basketball for Kent Crusaders. He is part of the elite basketball programme. Relocated from Chelmsford to attend the school.  He has represented the Under 15 & Under 17 South East regional teams.
