Rotary Becket smartened at REDLIPPY DAY! See the Pics!
Rotary Becket became aware of “Red Lippy Day” following a moving presentation at our breakfast meeting by BBC Radio Northampton reporter Jules Osmany so we decided to join in at our meeting on 1st May
In 2013 Jules’s mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia - a cruel disease from which she never recovered. That’s why, in conjunction with Dementia UK, Jules launched “Red Lippy Day” in 2015.
It wasn’t the first charitable idea to use make-up to raise money, but red lipstick held such importance for her mum throughout her life. Thinking she’d raise £200, Jules was staggered to raise over £13,000 to support Dementia UK. All people had to do was upload a picture of themselves wearing red lipstick onto social media and make a donation. For more ionformation visit her Facebook Page
To show our support, and hopefully raise some worthwhile funds for this good cause, Rotary Becket Members donned Red Lipstick at our breakfast meeting at Overstone Park on Wednesday 1st May.
The results are shown on the photos here:
